Meet the McKays
Engaging the Displaced Among Refugees
Adger, Sandra, Sam (18) and Ian (15) McKay live in southern Germany near Lake Constance and work with refugees from Syria, Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan in a ministry called Engaging the Displaced among Refugees in Germany. They have been on the field for more than four years now aånd have been blessed with many wonderful relationships with these people/groups. Adger is a Teaching Elder in the EPC and they are serving with World Outreach.
We have ingested hundreds of gallons of tea and coffee and some amazing food during these years! We focus on the relational element of sharing the love of Jesus and spend a good bit of time sitting and talking with our friends, as their culture(s) dicate(s). Many of them are M.'s and we are in varying stages of sharing about the great news of who Jesus is and what the Lord has done for us. Sandra has an amazing gift for getting to know the women and their struggles and offering hope in a variety of ways. Sam and Ian are currently in school here... Sam on site and Ian online. It is a joy to hear the many stories of tragedy and triumph that this mission provides.

Meet the Achilles Family

World Mission Centre

About the World Mission Centre

My name is Paul Achilles and I am married with three children. We also have an ‘adopted’ 21 year old daughter called Mitchell who is in Tertiary College. Our eldest son, Prince is in grade 1, our little girl is in PP2 and our youngest son Pierre was born in March 2021.

We live in Nairobi, Kenya where the children go to School. I currently work as the Regional Team Leader for an International Missions Organization called World Mission Centre overseeing our work in the 14 different countries that make up East Africa according to our project definition. We help Churches train and equip their members for Missions and Church planting. The organization currently works in about 97 countries around the world using the Live School Curriculum which is currently available in 11 world languages. (Check out more on us from www.worldmissioncentre.com).

My current job involves providing oversight to the volunteers that God has added to the regional office, identify churches with a mission vision in strategic locations in our region, train them as Facilitators and ensure they receive the Live School Curriculum after which they will go back and begin recruiting their group of students whom they will train and send to an area without a Church for church planting or evangelism work in selected areas. At the regional Office, we have a short 6 week training program designed for College and University students as well as expose them to 1-2 week long cross-cultural ministry experience. The other program we ran is similar to the a fore-mentioned one, but targets believers and Christian leaders.

I further mobilize Churches for missions by speaking at different churches telling them about missions and asking them to get involved by praying, sending teams, going or financially supporting missionaries and their work besides disciple-making and mentoring which I truly love because it is the one life and the one touch that makes the difference.

I like reading, cultures, outdoor adventure and the movies. I love God, I love my family and the many people that God has brought in my life to stand with me as I serve.

My dream for the region is to see at least 500 Mission Training Schools established so that we can train many more believers as missionaries to take the Gospel in areas where it has not been preached. We presently have around 125 training centers in partnership with local Churches from the region and have registered around 2000 believers, some of which have already graduated form the various mission schools and planted Churches. It is our dream and prayer that we can train at least 40000 people peradventure 10% of them may answer the call to cross cultural work preaching and planting Churches among the lost.

We want to see communities transformed by the light of Christ and those who are ostracized by their families especially from other radical faith backgrounds finding a new leash of life at the Mission Centre that we look forward to develop where they can be discipled, mentored and empowered for life.

My motivation is from my name sake, the Apostle Paul and his missionary experience and I look forward to the day when like him I can look back and say;

“ I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:...” 2 Tim 4:7

This ministry focuses on partnering with local and international organizations and individuals to support the spread of the Gospel.
